This workshop is intended for people who want to develop effective meeting skills - this may be the role of the organiser, administrator, chair or someone who feels that they want to participate more effectively in the meetings they attend

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Explain what a meeting is and what meetings are for

  • Explain the advantages and disadvantages of meetings

  • Ensure that meetings are well planned and prepared

  • Demonstrate skills in handling discussions as a participant

  • Manage time-keeping effectively

  • Manage relationships with difficult people

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills both verbal and non-verbal

  • Understand and manage group dynamics

  • Ensure that follow-up work is carried out after the meeting
